Brazilian racer Abba Kogan had an accident in a March 761 car during the final race Formula 1 within City Challenge race held in Baku.
During the accident, a fire broke out. The pilot left the car in time, so he didn't get injured.
During the race the pilots had to drive 20 laps. The race was temporary suspended due to the accident. It resumed after the evacuation of the car from the accident area.
The 2.1-km long City Challenge race circuit runs round Government House. Ten teams represented by two pilot drivers will take part. During the competition all safety rules are respected in accordance with the requirements of the local Auto Transport Federation and international standards.
The races will be observed by about 300 million people in over 120 countries and Baku will be in the spotlight of the world.
Previously, City Challenge was held in Budapest and Bucharest.
