Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 29 / Trend I. Isabalayeva /

The first four volumes of documents containing the facts of the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis, have been submitted to the Prosecutor General's Office for further submission to the International Court of the Hague, director of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences Yagub Mahmudov told Trend today.

He said that after they are examined, the results will also be submitted to the General Prosecutor's Office. The numerous cases of genocide have been confirmed and the appropriate sources confirmed.

"After Erivan and adjacent areas were given to the Armenians on May 29, 1918, the Ararat Armenian Republic established there has repeatedly committed genocide against Azerbaijanis in our former territories in the Erivan khanate," he said. "Today we learn of these facts and events."

As a result of a wrong decision made by the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the Azerbaijani people have been deprived of their lands and genocide was committed against them on the same territory.

"Today, work is underway to reveal the facts," he said. "I think that Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office will cooperate with us more closely after we complete our work on these documents and will achieve their submission to the International Court."

Mahmudov said that Turkish and Azerbaijani historians will jointly research the facts of the genocide on Azerbaijanis.
