The Turkmens, living in Syria, have always been under the oppression of Syrian regime, TRT Turk Turkish TV channel quoted the Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Cicek as saying on Saturday.
He said, the Syrian regime did not grant any rights to Turkmens.
"After the collapse of Assad regime Syrian Turkmens will actively participate in the political life of the country," Cicek said.
About 1.5 million Turkmens currently live in Syria.
Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for a year and half.
According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 30,000.
