A session on "Global Citizenship: Towards intercultural activities" was held within the second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.

During the session, Azerbaijani MP Fuad Muradov stressed that xenophobia is good for no one.

"These sentiments are very primitive in a period of globalization in which integration has acquired a broader meaning," he said.

Muradov said that Azerbaijan has made a great contribution to the process of inter-cultural integration. Last year, the International Youth Union "Silk Road", created with the participation of 25 countries, gathered the young people representing different cultures.

The speakers touched upon the cultural diversity in the world, stressed its importance and the important role of the civil society organizations in the promotion of these values.
