A metalworker of Azerbaijani State Oil Company's (SOCAR) Gas Export Department, Elnur Agayev died in an accident at a gas distribution station on May 29 at 12:30 (local time), according to a message from the company.
The accident occurred at the gas distribution station in located in Khizi (104 km away from capital Baku) during the work at the dust collector of a gas pipeline.
Agayev, born 1980, had worked for the company for 13 years, SOCAR said.
A special commission has been created with regard to the accident, according to the message.
Currently, the accident's causes are being investigated.
The preliminary data say that, Agayev was trying to eliminate a leakage in the dust collector's filter, however he was killed as the dust collector's cover, pressurized, came off the mount and hit his head.
