According to the schedule adopted at a meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Aug. 29, Azerbaijan has started nominating the candidates.

According to the schedule, the election documents necessary for registration of candidates for MPs must be submitted to the district election commissions from September 12 to October 2 till 18:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

The pre-election campaign will start October 9 and will end October 31 at 8:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).

The documents, related to the observation of the parliamentary election, must be submitted to the Central Election Commission October 22.

Local observers must submit their documents to the district election commission five days before voting.

The pre-election campaign begins 23 days before the voting. This year it will begin October 9 and end October 30. The pre-election agitation leaflets will be placed at the polling stations till October 2.

"After Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev fixed the election to the Azerbaijani parliament, the CEC immediately began to take actions in accordance with the legislation," Panahov said.

He said that the documents included in the agenda of the meeting are essential for the election.
