Azerbaijan's approach to the organization of competitions is what the whole world of gymnastics needs today, a member of the Executive Committee of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) Erik Juhl Mogensen told Trend March 3.

"What I saw during the preparation to both the FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics and the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics is a very professional organization work, people paid attention to each small detail," Mogensen said. "It is a great pleasure to be here and see it all."

The member of the committee went on to add that he was in Azerbaijan in June 2015 at the Baku European Games. "It was a great experience," Mogensen said. "I think Azerbaijan did a great job to organize the European Games."

Mogensen said that he sees no obstacles for Azerbaijan to host world championships in various kinds of gymnastics.

"I think the approach to organization of competitions shown here is what the gymnastics world needs today," he said. "We need more federations and countries to apply the same approach."

"If at least a half of the work observed in Azerbaijan had been carried out in the world, the world gymnastics level would have been better," he said. "So, I welcome holding of the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics in Baku."

Mogensen has stressed a high potential for gymnastics development in Azerbaijan.

"At the same time, there are similar challenges existing in other countries of Europe and the world," he said. "But I believe that an excellent team is working in the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation. This team has the right approach. The team members are listening to the advice. I am sure that they will be very successful in their activity."

"It would be very nice to see the Olympic champions in gymnastics from Azerbaijan in the future," he said. "I saw small children with huge potential. It is necessary to continue working in this direction."

Mogensen said that the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku is one of the best facilities of this type in the world.

"I have been the president of the UEG Trampoline Technical Committee for 12 years," he said. "I have been engaged in organizing various sports events more than 15 years. I can say that the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku is one of the best arenas I have ever seen."

"I can say that the way of its preparation for the FIG World Cup in Trampoline Gymnastics is the best setup in the history," he said. "It is nice to be a part of it."
