Slovenian gymnasts hope to show good results at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup in Baku, Sebastian Piletic, head coach of the country’s men's national artistic gymnastics team, told Trend.

“We have brought four young gymnasts. One of them – Saso Bertoncelj – won a gold medal in a pommel horse event at the European Games. Besides, there are a number of other good gymnasts and I hope they will, at least, reach the finals,” he said.

This is not the first time Slovenian gymnasts visit Baku, Piletic said, adding they are very pleased with the conditions created in the gymnastics hall.

“We came to Baku for the World Cup last year and for the European Games. The hall in Baku is excellent – it has everything necessary for athletes.”

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup will be held in Baku on March 16-19. Athletes from 23 countries are expected to perform at the World Cup to be hosted by the Azerbaijani capital for the second time.

Qualifications will be held on the first two days of the event followed by the Apparatus Finals on last two days.
