Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 20

By Jani Babayeva – Trend:

The National Gymnastics Arena really impressed me, Tatyana Smirnova, spectator of the 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships held in Baku, told Trend.

"It is the first time we are visiting the National Gymnastics Arena. It is very beautiful here, we are very impressed. Everything is well-organized," said the spectator, who came to watch the competition with her granddaughter.

According to Smirnova, her granddaughter is engaged in gymnastics, and for her to see the performances of famous athletes is a huge motivation to train further.

“My granddaughter is very interested in watching the athletes. It greatly motivates her to continue training, and that is why we are here,” Smirnova added.

The spectator also said that all types of gymnastics are developing in Azerbaijan.

"Gymnastics is developing in the country, various events are being held. I have many friends whose children are engaged in gymnastics," Smirnova said.

The 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships will last until Sept. 22.

More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. “Fairy Tales will come to life" is the motto of the championships.
