BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 26
By Jeyhun Alakbarov – Trend:
Car rentals have decreased in Azerbaijan, Emin Jannatov, chief manager of "Karavan rent a car" company, told Trend.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has also played its part,” chief manager added.
"People live in terms of a pandemic in the country, therefore restrictions on entry and exit to Azerbaijan have been introduced,” Jannatov said. “In this regard, the number of tourists coming to the country has also decreased. Therefore, there is stagnation in the work of the companies involved in car rentals. Tourists mainly rented cars and their absence negatively affected this sphere.”
“Along with tourists, locals have also rented cars,” chief manager said. “It is August and the very peak of the holiday season. Baku residents rented cars and went to the districts, but today entry to the districts has been limited and this also created difficulties for our business.”
“Constant clients with whom we have been working for a long time appeal to us,” Jannatov said. “There are companies that appeal only for the transportation of their employees. Car rentals have decreased by 80 percent compared to last year.”
