NAKHCHIVAN, Azerbaijan, September 22. Winning three medals at the “Grace of Nature” International Tournament in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan is a good result, the participant of the tournament, young gymnast Madina Gadimova told Trend.
She took second place in the program with clubs, as well as in the all-around gymnastics, and third place in the exercise without gymnastic tools.
"In general, I performed well. However, there were some elements in the program that did not work out today. I will try to improve them next time I perform. The coach praised me, said that I could perform even better," said the young athlete representing the Zire Cultural Centre.
According to Gadimova, thanks to the coach and hard training, she began to perform complex elements.
"Actually, when I came to the rhythmic gymnastics for the first time, I was a little confused, I didn't know if I could do the exercises. However, thanks to the coach and classes, I succeeded," the nine-year-old athlete said.
The international rhythmic gymnastics tournament "Grace of Nature," dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, is held in Nakhchivan on September 21–22.
About 250 gymnasts representing teams from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are participating in the competitions held in four age categories. Gymnasts from 20 clubs in Baku and the regions of Azerbaijan (Nakhchivan, Ganja, Agdash, Mingachevir, Oguz, Gakh, Shamkir, and Zagatala) participate in the tournament.
The competitions are held at the Nakhchivan Olympic Sports Complex.
