BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Preserving cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations is vital, Vice President of the Chamber of Italian Parliament Deputies Giorgio Mule said, Trend reports.

He made the remark during a panel discussion on "The role and best practices of the legislature in the protection of cultural heritage" within the framework of the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.

“The role of society in the preservation of cultural heritage should also be highlighted. Italy has legislation on the protection of cultural heritage. Special attention is paid to the preservation of cultural heritage in Italy.

Bodies supervising the implementation of legislation are also responsible, and monitoring the implementation of the law is an important factor. We must work to better preserve cultural heritage, reduce risks, and ensure that cultural heritage contributes to the economy," he added.
