Nearly 3,500 students from 41 countries of the world study in Azerbaijan today, officials of Ministry of education told Trend.
This number is 1,500 more than that in academic year 2004/2005, when the number of represented countries was 35.
Among them are the USA, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, China, Korea, Estonia, Israel and so. Most students are studying in Baku State University, Azerbaijan Economic University, Azerbaijan Architectural and Construction University and State oil Academy.
In academic year 200/2006, nearly 700 Azerbaijanis are studying in Turkey under governmental programs and almost 1,000 through nongovernmental programs. At present, 135 students are officially studying in Russia, 47 in Egypt, 26 in Ukraine and 16 in China.
