Baku meeting of OIC tourism ministers postponed

The Baku meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) has been postponed, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism told Trend.

Originally scheduled for July the gathering was delayed for September. A resolution of the organization of the meeting in Baku was taken at a last meeting of the Foreign Ministry of the OIC member-states. Azerbaijans proposal on the organization of the forthcoming meetings of the Foreign Ministers and Tourism Ministers of the OIC member-states in Baku was approved by all 57 member-states of the organization.

According to the Ministry, at present the agenda of the gathering is under development. Along with the issues on the development of tourism in the Islamic countries it is also planned to include in it issues on the destruction of culture heritage during the armed conflict in the territory of these countries. In particular, Azerbaijan will raise an issue on the destruction of Azerbaijani monuments in the Armenian-occupied areas. The agenda will be coordinated and adopted in the forthcoming meeting of OIC experts.
