Freedom House to erect monument to journalists perished in 2005

A monument dedicated to journalists perished around the world in 2005 will be erected by the Freedom House in Arlington, near

Washington (USA) on May 3, American embassy in Azerbaijan press-secretary, Jonathan Henik told journalists.

Names of 59 journalists who became victims of violence will be engraved on the monument. Most of the journalists killed last year, died in the hot spot and in Iraq in particular.

Name of the Azerbaijani journalist, Elmar Huseynov will be engraved on the monument too.

US government pays special attention to unprevented activity of journalists all over the world, it is providing more than $40m every year for tthat needs.
