Approximately 6 thousand foreign students will study in the higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan in new academic year, Azerbaijani education minister Misir Mardanov told journalists on August 17, Trend reports.
Touching on the student exchange with foreign countries, the minister stressed that over the period of Azerbaijans independence, 2000 Azerbaijanis have graduated from various universities only in the USA. According to Mardanov, each year the number of foreign students in Azerbaijan increases. Their number has increased by 4 times as comprised to 2002.
Touching on the dispatch of pedagogues to far lands, the minister pointed out that 900 teachers were sent to regions last year. This year, in relation to the appearance of stimulus increase of the wages for teachers working in far lands more pedagogues express their desires to work in regional schools. Several non-governmental organizations render us assistance in this direction. However, speaking about the exact number of teachers forwarded to far lands will be possible at the beginning of the academic year, he added.
