The Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources of Azerbaijan announced its plan to offer prizes named after the Azeri Academician Hasan Aliyev. The prizes are held in the following categories, Trend reports quoting the Ministry:
1. Ways of propagating humanistic attitude towards science, education and nature;
2. Protection, restoration and expansion of forests;
3. Protection and sustainable development of bio-diversity.
The projects will be accepted until 5 December 2006. The prize for each nomination will be AZN 500.
The prizes will be awarded on the eve of the birthday of the academician, 15 December. Those interested in participating in the prize may appeal to the Ecological Propaganda Department of the Ministry for further information.
