On 25 October, during the court session on the criminal cases of the former senior official of the Head Investigation Department of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov and the criminal group headed by him, the Chechen member of the gang Gusain Abdulvahabov provided evidence. The court session on the cases of Mammadov and his criminal group comprising of 25 persons, is held in the Court of Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan under the Chair of Judge Ali Seyfaliyev, Trend reports.

The accused person stated that he had lived in Chechen until 1994. In 1994, due to the situation in Chechen, he brought the female members of his family to Baku to ensure their security. Here, he entrusted them on his brother Sidek Abdulvahabov (member of the gang) and planned to return to Chechen, but as the roads were closed, he was forced to stay in Baku.

Accused of assassinations and kidnappings, G. Abdulvahabov does not agree with the accusations. He stressed that although he had a close relation with Haji Mammadov, he did not know that Mammadov was the head of the criminal gang. I got to know Mammadov in 1995 through Shirkhan Albiyev (gang member). We became close. I knew Mammadov as a generous person. He sometimes offered me financial assistance. Abdulvahabov said.

The court session continues with evidence from G. Abdulvahabov.
