Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / The Press Service of the Health Ministry of Azerbaijan stated that a conference "Tuberculosis in Azerbaijan" will be held in Baku on 13 March for the first time.
The event will bring together the representatives from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the World Health Organization. The conference will focus on the situation in its fight against tuberculosis in Azerbaijan and directions of co-operation with international organizations.
Annually nearly 8 mln people sustain tuberculosis and nearly 3 mln of the total die from the disease.
