Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Nushirevan Maharramli, chairmen of the National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan, has stated that interruption of broadcasting of foreign channels in Azerbaijan cause development of cable television.
"Most districts of Baku have already connected to cable television. Some 70 or 80% of Baku small districts will be connected to cable television by the end of 2007," Maharramli noted.
Development of cable television cause decrease of prices for services. According to chairman, the Council is planning to make service for cable television acceptable to subscribers.
"We cannot stipulate concrete conditions on companies. This is their rights. We will try population to have access to foreign channels, and therefore we ask companies to decrease prices for cable television," Maharramli said.
