Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend К.Zarbaliyeva / Initially private notary offices will be opened in big cities of Azerbaijan.
Mehman Soltanov, the Chief of the Notary Central Registration Department at the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry, has reported to the Trend Information Agency that permission to open private notary offices will be given on a gradual basis.
According to Soltanov, this institute is a new one and therefore the opening of a private office will initially be implemented in the big cities. "The public trust the State department. If they do not appeal to a private notary then offices will not be able to finance their operation. Once the institute justifies its operation, similar offices will be opened in all regions. A total of 149 notaries will function in 136 notary offices in the country. Documents from interested persons were received from 7 May to 10 August. Soltanov noted that 527 people submitted their documents. Examinations will be held once the documents have been checked by the Board of Experts. The successful candidates will be trained within 6 months after which time they will be appointed to work in private notary offices.
