Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / A case regarding two charges against a colonel of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was closed.
The charges were dropped against Colonel Rasim Muradov due to insufficient evidence of taking bribes and abuse of power, Alakpar Mammadov, Muradov's attorney, said to Trend Agency.
The case against Muradov has already been completed and submitted to the Public Prosecutor Office for affirmation. The colonel was charged with contravening Article 311.3.2 (taking bribes) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The case was passed to the Military Court for consideration.
Muradov was arrested on 24 July due to a criminal case brought against him by the commander of the Guard Brigade of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Mirzali Yusifov.
