BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. Azerbaijan Jewelers Association's overall export of precious metals, gems and jewelry amounted to 350.37 million manat ($206.2 million) in 2021, Chairman of the Association Toghrul Abbasguliyev told Trend.
He noted that finished jewelry exports for 2021 made up 1.337 million manat ($786,941).
"Jewellery demand is recovering after the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, export growth is expected. Potential importers of Azerbaijani jewelry are the CIS countries, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the coming years, Eastern European States are supposed to be included in the list of importing countries ," the chairman said.
According to him, the jewelry market turnover for 2021 totaled 107.7 million manat ($63.39 million).
The Azerbaijan Jewelers Association Public Union was established in February 2020 following the initiative and with the support of Azerbaijan's Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA). The main goal of the Union is to make Azerbaijan a regional jewelry center.
