BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. Some 72 percent of the EU companies in Azerbaijan consider local market availability to attract investors to the country, Trend reports via the sixth edition of the EU Business Climate Survey 2021.
According to the research, 65 percent of the respondents think that strategic partnerships and alliances are key factors for Azerbaijan's attractive investment location.
Meanwhile, the percentage of those choosing Azerbaijan for their business due to tax incentives in 2021 increased from 17 percent to 27 percent year on year.
Another positive observation is that the EU companies started considering access to technologies as a factor for a favorable investment environment in Azerbaijan. Thus, the index increased from 16 percent in 2020 to 28 percent in 2021.
“Other factors motivating investors include low cost of production, access to intermediate inputs and suppliers, access to natural resources, and diversification supply chain risk,” the EU report said.
