BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. Azerbaijan's SOCAR Polymer company increased its export of products by 30.8 percent from January through February 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, the country's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication told Trend.
According to the center, the company's export in the reporting period totaled $51.4 million which is $12.1 million more than in the same period in 2022.
SOCAR Polymer ranks third in the top 10 in terms of the value of non-oil products exported by state-owned companies in Azerbaijan.
The construction of SOCAR Polymer plants has become the first large-scale project of the country's petrochemical industry over the past 40 years.
The company’s production facilities consisting of polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plants are located on the territory of the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP).
The PP and HDPE plants were commissioned in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
