BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. France became the largest public-private partnership market in Europe in 2022, Trend reports, citing the publication from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

According to the report, France became the largest market not only in terms of value, which totaled 4.2 billion euros, in comparison with 1.6 billion euros in 2021, but also in terms of the number of projects with closed deals, which reached 21 (18 deals in 2021).

Meanwhile, Türkiye ranked second among largest public-private partnership markets in Europe in terms of value, with a total of 2 billion euros (1.4 billion euros in 2021).

At the same time, In terms of the number of projects, Germany was the second largest public-private partnership market with a total of 4 deals closed (7 closed deals in 2021).

"Nine countries closed at least two deals (6 countries in 2021) and 15 countries closed at least one public-private partnership transaction (compared to 14 in 2021)," the report added.

As the EIB reported, the combined value of public-private partnership deals that reached financial close in the European market in 2022 amounted to 9.8 billion euros, which is an increase of 17 percent year-on-year ($8.4 billion in 2021).
