Türkiye unfolds volume of cargo handled by local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. The Turkish ports handled over 32.5 million tons of cargo in July 2023, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, over 2.4 million tons of the handled cargo accounted for ships under the country's flag, and more than 30 million tons of cargo - ships under the flags of other countries.

Besides, in July this year, the Turkish ports handled 6.1 million tons of transit cargo.

From January through July 2023, the ports of Türkiye handled 227 million tons of cargo.

Moreover, in the specified period, cargo handling by ships under the country's flag amounted to 16.8 million tons, while cargo transportation through the ports by ships under the flags of other countries totaled 210.2 million tons.

During the first seven months of 2023, Turkish ports handled 41 million tons of transit cargo.

In 2022, the Turkish ports handled over 394 million tons of cargo. The ships flying the Turkish flags transported 28.4 million tons, while ships flying the flags of other countries - 365.6 million tons of cargo.

Besides, last year, 81.01 million tons of transit cargo were handled via Turkish ports.
