BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. ExxonMobil's refining throughput in 2023 reached 4.1 mb/d, Trend reports.
According to the company, this marked an increase of 38,000 b/d compared to 2022.
This record-breaking throughput on the existing refinery circuit was made possible by robust reliability and the successful conclusion of the 250,000 b/d Beaumont refinery expansion in the first quarter of 2023, ExxonMobil explained.
Furthermore, the completion of the strategic Permian crude venture project in December, with a capacity of 1.5 mb/d, has expanded access to advantageous Permian feedstocks for both the Beaumont and Baytown refineries.
Meanwhile, ExxonMobil's 2023 earnings from energy products amounted to $12.1 billion, marking a decrease of $2.8 billion compared to 2022. As the company noted, this decline was attributed to the reduction in industry refining margins, increased planned maintenance activities, and divestments.
