Georgia talks about ongoing, future projects in construction area

In 2021-2024, it is planned to allocate at least 20 billion lari ($6.3 billion) for the development of municipal and other basic infrastructure in the regions of Georgia, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili said, Trend reports via Georgian media.

"We will continue to pay special attention to villages adjacent to the highlands. We will continue to provide cities with municipal transport. Gas will be supplied to another 400 settlements by 2024. As a result, 1.4 million families will be able to use natural gas. And the country's gas supply will exceed 90 percent. Another 500 thousand people living in additional 1,000 settlements will have access to high-speed Internet," Tskitishvili said at a presentation in Rustavi.

According to Tskitishvili, in order to create new opportunities in the regions, projects of the complex renovation of settlements will be continued, aimed at creating and developing new centers of attraction.

In 2021-2024, the Abastumani development project, the Tskaltubo rehabilitation project, the Bakuriani urban renewal, the reconstruction of the Lagami district in Mestia and the restoration of the towers in the Ushguli community, the renovation of the cities of Telavi and Velistsikhe, the development of the Kobi and Truso gorges, as well as projects for the renovation of the city of Dusheti will be completed.
