Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure discusses its activities carried out in 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 17

In total 332,000 people now have better water supply in Georgia, said Infrastructure Minister Maia Tskitishvili, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Infrastructure Minister Maia Tskitishvili has presented the annual report for 2020 and discussed the activities the Georgian Ministry of Infrastructure carried out this year.

"In 2020, 20 new schools have been built for 1,530 students in total, while 17 kindergartens have been built for a total of 1000 children,” said Tskitishvili.

As for internally displaced people, 500 IDP families have been given flats in newly built residential buildings in Zugdidi and Tskaltubo.

Tskitishvili noted that this year over 1,300 companies and 31,000 people have been working for 6,000 projects in total.

The minister said that 70 km of expressway has already been completed, while 39 tunnel and 53 bridges reconstruction works are underway on Rikoti highway. Five new tunnels have already been cut there. Rikoti employs 3,311 people out of which 1,988 are Georgian citizens.
