The construction of an airport in the city of Kerki in Turkmenistan’s Lebap region is being completed, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.
Currently, commissioning is underway.
The completion of the construction of the new airport in Kerki will contribute to the further development of the region, the activation of mutually beneficial trade and economic ties, and tourism.
The construction is carried out by the local Gundogdy company, the report said.
According to the contract, the airport in Kerki with a capacity of 100 passengers per hour had to enter into operation in May 2021.
The facilities will be located on the territory - a runway, four helicopter pads, a passenger terminal, an air traffic control center, technical and support services, and wide engineering and technological communications network.
