Turkmenistan to open new airport in Lebap region

Construction of airport has been completed in the city of Kerki in Turkmenistan’s Lebap region, the opening of which is scheduled for June 21, 2021, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

The new airport in Kerki is the largest infrastructure project in the Lebap region of the country.

The construction is carried out by the local Gundogdy company, the report said.

According to the contract, the airport in Kerki with a capacity of 100 passengers per hour had to enter into operation in May 2021.

The facilities will be located on the territory - a runway, four helicopter pads, a passenger terminal, an air traffic control center, technical and support services, and wide engineering and technological communications network.
