( Worldcarfans ) - The Honda Odyssey has been Honda's prime people mover and for the 2008 model year Honda has injected the minivan with an extra dose of style and interior features. Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda: "For 2008, the Odyssey strengthens its styling and functional advantages while adding even more premium features."
The changes are far from major in the Odessey's mid-cycle facelift where the new Honda Accord grille finds it way to the minivan. Other minor changes can be found in the headlamps, rear light cluster, the tailgate and hood.
Under the hood, the facelifted Odyssey now sports a more fuel-efficient VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) i-VTEC V6 engine which is capable of deactivating either two or three of the engine's six cylinders when cruising or deceleration. The 3.5 liter i-VTEC V6 (Honda Odyssey EX-L and Touring) produces 241 hp with 242 lb-ft. of torque while the 3.5-liter SOHC VTEC (Odyssey LX and EX) engine puts out 244 hp and 240 lb-ft. of torque.
The interior has been improved with some premium optional features like Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, 4-way power passenger seat, rearview camera display in the rearview mirror and memory-linked side mirrors with reverse gear tilt down. New colors and trims are also available and of course the Honda 3rd-Row Magic Seat allowing three occupants while still providing 38.4 cubic feet of cargo space.
