Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / Lithuania is interested in participating in the project of TRACECA transport corridor, but no official has been received yet for joining the main multilateral project (JMP) signed in Baku in 1998, a source stated in the TRACECA Inter-Governmental Secretariat in Baku.
The Ambassador of Lithuania to Azerbaijan, Kestutis Kudzmanas, his country is interested in transportation of cargos exported via TRACECA transport corridor through its territory.
Approving Lithuania's participation in TRACECA requires nearly two years, the same source stated. All TRACECA member-countries should unanimously approve Lithuania's candidature. After this, the Country's candidature should be approved at the meeting of Inter-Governmental Commission which take place once per year.
