Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 March / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / The Azerbaijani Republican Prosecutor has investigated the importing ways of Iran-made gas stoves to Azerbaijan, which had earlier caused various deaths in Azerbaijan.
"The State Standardization Metrology and Patent Agency is commissioned to develop a document to reveal ways of importing Iran-Made gas stoves in Azerbaijan and receive certification for the sale These documents will be submitted to the Republican Prosecutor Office," Ramiz Hasanov, chairman of the State Agency, stated to journalists on 14 March.
Under the legislation, the gas stoves imported to Azerbaijan must be certificated. But the Iranian imported gas stoves were not certificated in Azerbaijan. The State Agency implements certification in two ways, through testing and secondly by approving the certificate of the production country.
"The pertinent issue is how these gas stoves got delivered in the Azerbaijani market," he said. State Agency imposed prohibition on sale of these gas stoves in Azerbaijan.
According to Azerigas CJSC, in January, over 40 incidents connected with the gas were registered in Azerbaijan. As a result of the gas leakage, 16 people died and 49 got traumatised. Wrong use of Iran-made gas stove became the main reason for these incidents in the country.
