Azerbaijan, Baku, 27 May / Trend corr I. Khalilova/ "The Government of Azerbaijan plans to extend tax privileges for country's agricultural manufacturers for 5 more years," Azerbaijani Deputy Finance Minister Azar Bayramov said.

The moratorium period for payment of taxes by the agricultural manufacturers expires in 2008. They were free of all taxes (except land tax) for 5 years.

According to Bayramov, given world's food security problem, privileges cannot be cancelled.

"In next 10 years it will be not good for Azerbaijan to cancel tax privileges given current extensive development of the county's agrarian sector," he said.

Bayramov believes that taking into account current development rate the state budget does not lose a lot from non-payment of taxes by farmers.

"Until large farm economies are established in Azerbaijan to be able to provide good supply to the market, it is too early to speak of considerable incomes to the budget from this field," Bayramov said.
