Oil-Loading Transport from Azerbaijan to Georgia to be Restored Soon: SOCAR Georgia Head

Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 August / Trend corr. E.Ismayilov / Georgian and Azerbaijani specialists will complete damage control on the bridge near Tbilisi within two days. The bridge will permanently used to transport oil-loading from Azerbaijan   to Central Asia to the Black Sea ports in Poti, Batumi and Kulevi, Mahir Mammadov, the General Director of SOCAR said.

"The situation is complicated. The plot is old and has not been in used for a long period. We will complete repair today or tomorrow. The works are carried out both by Azerbaijani and Georgian specialists," Mammadov said.

The oil-loading transport to the Black Sea ports in Georgia near the Georgian Caspian port was suspended due to explosion on 16 August.

At present, there are six oil-loading filled trains on the Boyuk-Kasik station (border between Azerbaijan and Georgia). Other six trains stand near the station in the Azerbaijani territory. Fifteen trains stand near Tbilisi as well. 

Azerbaijani Railway reported that the commodity and passenger trains operate in normal regime.

SOCAR Georgia is SOCAR's daughter company. The Kulevi port in Georgia belongs to SOCAR.
