Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 12 / Trend , N.Ismayilova/ Iranian stove manufacturers whose products meet international standards and requirements have been allowed to export their products to Azerbaijan, Director General of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan Ramiz Hasanov said on Dec. 12.
"Azerbaijani experts monitored
Iranian enterprises which produce these stoves. We currently don't have
technologies to make analyses in Azerbaijan, so we send experts to Iran or to other locations to examine the imported low-quality products," Hasanov said.
According to Hasanov, the ban to import products to Azerbaijan has been lifted
from those enterprises that manufacture stoves in line with requirements and
standards. However, Azerbaijan has not yet received any application for a
certificate.
"Over the past two months, no Iranian producer applied to us, though several enterprises
have certificates which were issued earlier," he said.
According to the Azerigaz JSC, 42 gas-related incidents were registered in Azerbaijan in January 2008, which is nearly a third of the total number of similar
incidents over the whole of 2007. As a result, 16 people died and 49 sustained injuries.
There were six household gas explosions and 36 carbon monoxide poisonings out
of the total number of incidents.
Azerigaz believes the cause of the incidents is irregular exploitation of gas
appliances and problems with ventilation in premises.
Stoves are included into the list of goods which are subject to compulsory
certification in accordance with the list of certified products determined by
the Government.
