No H1N1 virus in Azerbaijan: state commission

Azerbaijan, Baku, May 1/ Trend , S. Babayeva/ The State Commission on Bird Flu Prevention and coordinated body of relevant agencies say there is not H1N1 virus in Azerbaijan.

"No H1N1 virus has been revealed in Azerbaijan. The agriculture ministry has taken all necessary measures to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease," the commission said. 

The commission recommends in case of flue to appeal to hospital or call ambulance, to observe hygiene and avoid visiting countries with the swine flu.

According to the World Health Organization, as of April 29 nine countries reported about 148 cases of infection with Swine Flu A/H1N1. The U.S. government has reported 91 laboratory confirmed cases of infected people, one of which have been fatal. Mexico confirmed 26 confirmed cases of infection seven of which have been fatal.

Austria (1), Germany (3), Israel (2), Spain (4), Canada (13), New Zealand (3) and the UK have announced laboratory confirmed non-fatal cases of infected people.
