Investors from Saudi Arabia to invest in agriculture, construction and energy sectors of Kazakhstan in terms of providing the same privileges and preferences like Kazakh businessmen, Chairman of the Agency for Investment Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Amr Dabbah said speaking at the Kazakh - Saudi business forum in Astana.
"The trade turnover between our countries is $70 million, which does not comply with the existing potential between our countries," said Dabbah.
According to him, the investment capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is $500 billion and the country, according to World Bank estimates, is 16 of the world's attractive investment climate among states of the Arab region.
"However, we ask the Kazakh government to provide us with the same preferences as the Kazakh businessmen, excluding differentiation approach. We offer the same benefits," said Dabbah.
One of the main preferences is the right of possession of private property in one of the suspected areas of cooperation. In addition, he suggested Kazakhstan to consider visa for Saudi Arabia citizens to Kazakhstan, as well as freedom of movement of proceeds derived from investments in Kazakhstan investment.
Heads of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia delegation see petrochemicals, energy, agriculture, construction and tourism sectors as the most attractive in Kazakhstan.
According to Kazakh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Kairat Lama Sharif, the trade turnover between the countries was $68 million in 2008.
"Out of which $65 million accounted for export and $2 million for import. We want to bring trade turnover to $500 million from export of Kazakh grain - wheat and barley. Therefore, representatives of more than 100 grain companies from Saudi Arabia are visiting Kazakhstan", said Lama Sharif Kairatm.
