Georgia, Tbilisi, June 2 / Trend , N.Kirtzkhalia/

The Georgian Grain Producers Association accuses commercial banks of ignoring the projects of the agrarian sector. The association believes that commercial banks must strengthen their activities in this direction.

They admit the fact that the risks are high in the agricultural sector, because this sphere depends on natural phenomena. "World practice shows how they should behave. The development of the agricultural sector should take place with the help of insurance companies and the banking sector. The president is constantly said that the agricultural sector should be given credit, but the commercial banks refrain from this because of the risks," the association said.

The Ministry of Agriculture stated that the representatives of the agrarian sector have not applied to them in connection with the problems of credit and insurance. "Everyone knows that the agrarian sector has high risks, but the scope does not lose profitability," the ministry told Radio "Kommersant" and added that in order to help agrarian sector, a specific plan is not developed and the ministry is helping this area only via the targeted programs.
