Azerbaijani Texnika Bank creates own processing center

BPC Group, Russian supplier of software solutions for retail financial market, realizes project of software solution in Texnika Bank, the company said.

As a result of project realization, the bank plans to increase number of issued cards, cash-machines and POS-terminals twice by late 2009. The bank plans to issue and serve microprocessor cards of EMV-standard developed by Europay, Mastercard and Visa payment systems.

The project will be realized in two stages. The first stage envisages full functional modern processing center on SmartVista base and its certification in payment systems Visa and MasterCard, including emission and acquiring of EMV-standard cards. The second stage includes full migration of card products from Azericard processing center. 

Stage-by-stage realization of the project will allow ensuring uninterrupted service of payment cards issued by the bank up to now. As of late June, Texnika Bank issued 38,300 plastic cards, 48 cash-machines and 340 POS-terminals installed.

Texnika Bank   is the second private bank of Azerbaijan (after UNIbank) and the fourth bank among Azerbaijani banks (earlier the International Bank of Azerbaijan and Kapital Bank had this status) getting permission for Visa International acquiring.   

It allowed Texnika Bank independently signing agreements with trade enterprises to place POS-terminals. Acquiring will promote development of card business of the bank. It will have opportunity to draw corporative clients involved in trade and rendering of services.
