Russian company gets order from Turkmenistan to lay motorway

The JSC Russian Renaissance Production Unity (PU) has received a government order from Turkmenistan to implement the project in the field of transport infrastructure.

The first contract, which was signed under the President's decree, provides design and construction in Ashgabat and Akhal province (region). The complex includes 7 facilities branched road with the overpass and 3 bridges, 2 roads with total length of 6.8 km and neighborhood improvement, and with complete readiness for operation of all internal and external of connecting utilities and facilities.

The document required to start work in November 2009 and put the facility into operation in May 2012.

The project will enable vehicles to travel on the ring road through the capital without traffic lights and stops. According to specialists, it will alleviate traffic flow and normalize the traffic, at least for the next three decades.

The second contract concerns the design and construction of motorways from the Turkmenbashi airport in the Balkan province to the limits of the Avaza spa zone with a length of 20.4 km and reconstruction of roads from the Turkmenbashi town to the limits of the Avaza zone with a length of 8.5 km.

All of the above work is required to start in October 2009 and launch facilities in full readiness in June 2011.

These projects are part of the feasible international transport corridor East-West, in which Turkmenistan has an important role of a transit link among the different states of the Eurasian continent.
