Sanitary department of Azerbaijan Railways JSC has upped its security. On November 9, 2009, passenger trains Baku-Kiev N 31-32 and Baku-Kharkov N 369-370 in the country were accompanied by a team of doctors of sanitary and medical service Azerbaijan Railways, the Railways reported.
In accordance with the order by the Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Arif Askerov, a plan has been devised in connection with complex works to be realized in the future. Due to it, the sanitary department of the JSC intensified its activities.
Sanitary and medical services and other health departments consistently take preventive measures.
According to the action program, inspections are carried out on whether the sanitary rules and regulations in passenger trains, children's and adolescent, educational and health institutions, in areas densely populated by refugees and internally displaced persons are implemented, whether the regime of disinfection is performed, preventive measures are taken and all facilities are disinfected on the territory of the railway, a reserve of preventive medicines, disinfection materials, personal protective equipment for anti-plague are provided in the stations of Azerbaijan Railways. For the functioning at border checkpoints and if necessary, for accompanying passenger trains throughout the country, medical teams have been established, of which members are trained about what action should be taken if a patient with a suspected A/H1N1 virus is detected at a passenger train. Because in these situations, one important factor is public awareness and enforcement of rules of personal hygiene.
Hotline has been established in the sanitary quarantine inspection, through which it is possible to inform of detecting patients with suspected A/H1N1 virus at the passenger trains, railway stations, border checkpoints.
