In December, the number of profitable banks in Azerbaijan increased by one bank compared to December 2008, by two banks compared to November 2009 to 39, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said.
Total revenues increased by 37 percent to 252.98 million manat compared to early 2009. In December the total revenues of banks increased by 8 percent.
The number of unprofitable banks decreased by one compared to early 2009 and by two banks compared to November 2009. Seven banks lost 16.59 million manat, which is 2.2 percent higher than the figure in early 2009.
