Georgian commercial bank deposits exceed $2 billion

The Georgian banking deposit portfolio as of March 1 exceeded 3.5 billion lari, or 1.2 percent or 40.9 million lari more than Feb. 1.

The Georgian banking deposit portfolio as of March 1 exceeded 3.5 billion lari, or 1.2 percent or 40.9 million lari more than Feb. 1.

The Georgian National Bank reported that the deposit amount in the industrial and in-house sectors increased by 26.6 million lari, or 2.1 percent in February compared to the previous month.

The deposit dollarization coefficient was 72.7 percent, 1.7-percent lower than Feb. 1.

The average annual deposit interest rate was 9.2 percent, including national currency deposits of 10.7 percent and foreign currency deposits of nine percent.

The dollar's deposit share of foreign currency was 76.6 percent and the euro's hit 22.2 percent.
