Georgia’s foreign debt hits 6 billion lari

Georgia's foreign debts hit 6.160.993 lari (one $ = 1.74 lari) as of March 31. In late February, the figure was 5,893,054 lari, but in late March of 2009 - 4,697,281 lari, the Finance Ministry said.

As of March 31, Georgia's debts to international financial organizations amounted to 4,310,566 lari, including to the World Bank, the International Development Association - 1,958,533 lari, the International Monetary Fund - 1,705,556 lari. Georgia's debts on the basis of bilateral agreements amount to 956471 lari, but in eurobonds - to 874700 lari.

According to the Finance Ministry, the size of the loans taken under the state guarantee amounts to 8,256 lari.
