Azerbaijan, Baku, May 20 / Trend E. Ismayilov /

Azerbaijan can provide Kazakhstan its services in the construction of platforms, offshore platforms and undersea pipelines, Minister of Industry and Energy Natiq Aliyev said.

Aliyev said that one of the major areas of cooperation between the parties is a developing area of Kazakhstan's Caspian Sea shelf. Azerbaijan has already provided assistance to Kazakhstan during the construction of different metal bases necessary for development of offshore fields.

"This work is carried out periodically on the applications or proposals that are received. But I think that one can establish permanent cooperation", Aliyev said.

He said that Azerbaijan, having a huge industrial infrastructure, in particular on the construction of platforms, bases, underwater oil and gas pipelines, can establish permanent cooperation with Kazakhstan in this area and be a key partner in various projects.

"I think that in future Kazakhstan will pay more attention to the shelf. So, I think that there are great prospects for our cooperation in this direction", Aliyev said.

Another priority of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is engineering for oil and gas industry, he said.

Azerbaijan has been historically the main supplier of oil and gas equipment to Kazakhstan. Factories and enterprises of the countries had close ties. Then these relations were temporarily interrupted, Aliyev said.

Today, we turn to the new standards. We have mastered the different standards of API, established a connection, export products. Therefore, I believe that it is necessary for Kazakhstan to work more actively in the area of supply, notably oil and gas equipment, " Aliyev said.

Minister also mentioned the great prospects of opportunities for joint ventures in this field, joint production of oil and gas equipment in Kazakhstan.
