Ministry of Economic Development takes measures to educate regional businesses to expand export opportunities in Azerbaijan

An event on "Educating of entrepreneurs in regions" was held in Sumgayit to educate Azerbaijani entrepreneurs about export in the European Union, the main features of the EU program on "Generalized System of Preferences+"("GSP+"), the potential benefit of the system for business, opportunities, created the portal of e-commerce www.b2b.az, the Ministry of Economic Development said on Wednesday.

Consultant of the entrepreneurship development department Rovshan Medjidov said that export opportunities of the country are rapidly expanding.

The presidential decree "Additional measures to improve regulation rules of import and export operations in the Azerbaijan Republic" dated may 14, 2010 has special importance to develop non-oil sector, improve business environment, stimulate exports and increase export-import operations.

"As a result of changes and additions to the rules governing the import and export operations, the number of documents and procedures required in the transactions reduced. Calculation rules for export were simplified. Favorable conditions were created for exporters," Medjidov said.

Consultant of foreign trade policy department and World Trade Organization of the Ministry Altun Aliyev and director of the regional development and public programs sector Amil Alili consider business education in organization and management of export and the role of e-commerce in business development as important.

Similar events were held in Lankaran, Yevlakh, Shamakhi and Goradiz.
