Azerbaijan deports 871 foreigners in August

The Azerbaijani State Migration Service deported 871 foreigners illegally residing in the country last month.
The decision was made to deport 871 foreigners within 48 hours and to administratively expel 138 foreigners based on state legislation, the service's PR Department told Trend.
The authorities discovered violations committed by 1,112 foreigners last month. Some 241 people were fined, and allowed to continue living in the country.
Last month, the service received 3,657 appeals from foreigners and stateless individuals to extend their term of stay in the country, to issue a permanent and temporary residence permit, to grant citizenship, to restore or to renounce citizenship, and to define their citizenship or refugee status, or issue or renew individual work permits.
